DeForest – Diane S. Laes, age 67, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg following a spirited battle with cancer. She was born on January 5, 1951 in Madison, WI, the daughter of Robert and Sybil (Poore) Ziesch. Diane graduated from DeForest High School in 1969.

She was united in marriage to Donald Laes on August 18, 1979. Diane was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in DeForest. She worked for the State of Wisconsin for 41 years, retiring in January of 2017.

She enjoyed traveling, especially to Disney World in Florida, Germany and Hawaii. She was an avid Packers, Brewers and Badgers fan. Diane loved spending time with her family.

Diane is survived by her father, Robert Ziesch; brother, Larry (Rena) Ziesch; nephews, Jamison (Michelle) Ziesch and Aaron (Kate) Ziesch; sister-in-law, Carolyn Laes; step daughter, Angela Wilson; two step grandchildren; one step great grandson; and aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Laes; and mother, Sybil Ziesch. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 220 S Main St, DeForest, with Rev.

Sue Beadle presiding. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service. A luncheon will be served at church following the service.

There will be a private family burial. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs at Waunakee Manor, SSM Health St. Mary’s and Agrace HospiceCare. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church or Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg.
