Kuffel, 88, of Marinette passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019, at Rennes East. He was born January 13, 1931 to the late Louis and Lillian (Johnson) Kuffel in the town of Grover at home. He graduated from Marinette High School in 1948.

On April 22, 1950, Donald married Arlene M. Schwartz at St. Joseph’s Church in Walsh. Over the years he had worked for Unit Structure, Bill Jensen Construction, Richard Soderberg Electric, and retired after 36 years at Ansul. He was a member of Holy Family Parish and the Knights of Columbus #719.

Don loved spending time with family. He enjoyed playing baseball, bowling, polka dancing, playing cards, watching TV, hunting and fishing, and going to breakfast on Friday mornings with the Ansul retirees. Donald is survived by his wife of 68 years, Arlene; two sons: Allan (Marilu) Kuffel and Jim (special friend Mary) Kuffel both of Marinette; three daughters: Dawn (Todd) Sanborn of Marinette, Kathy (Pat) Kamin of Menominee, and Judy (Ken) Weed of Peshtigo; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; three godchildren: Julie Seymour, Kris Watier, and Mike Sanborn; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law’s and brother-in-law’s: Dolores Kuffel, Elaine Olive, Dolores and Jerry Ewaldt, Dorothy Schwartz, Joan Lesperance, Janice Puls, Shirley and Sonny Kortarek Jr., Wayne Adams, Walter and Alene Schwartz, and Duane and Linda Schwartz.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in law’s Leo and Clara (Miller) Schwartz; two brothers, George and Gaylord Kuffel; sister and brother in laws; Merriam (Ed) Koronkiewicz, Irene (Robert) Zorn, Elenore Schwartz, William Schwartz, and Betty Adams; two nieces, Kay (Olive) Menor and Jean (Kuffel) Ekert; three nephews: Ronnie Schwartz, Brian Lesperance, and Keith Puls; and one godchild MaryAnn (Koronkiewicz) Wills. Visitation will be held at Holy Family Parish Our Lady of Lourdes Taylor St. on Saturday March 16th from 9am to 11am. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11am with Reverend Celestine Byekwaso officiating.

Thielen Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established. Special thanks to the Rescue Squad, BAMC, Rennes East and Unity Hospice.
