Donald “Donnie” Paul Hayes, age 62 of the Crusoe Community of Whiteville passed on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the Etheridge Family Cemetery in Crusoe with Reverend Ervin Etheridge officiating. Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn is serving the family.

He is the son of Verlie Mae Etheridge Hayes and the late Luther Paul Hayes. Donnie retired from International Paper in 2016 after 42 years of employment. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife 35 years, Terri Lynn Hewett Hayes of the home; a son, Aaron Paul Hayes of Whiteville; and a sister, Loretta Ann Hayes Marlowe and her husband, John Wayne Phillips of Fair Bluff.
