Donald’s Obituary Donald George Stoehr, 91, Green Bay, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018. He was born in Hiles, WI on January 5, 1927, to the late George and Margaret (Short) Stoehr. He was a 1944 graduate of Green Bay West High School.

After turning 18, Don was drafted into the U.S. Army, transferred to the Army Air Corps, serving stateside in 1945 and 1946. On March 31, 1951, Don and Ruth Baenen were married at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. He worked for Wisconsin Public Service for 42 years in gas service and electric distribution.

Don enjoyed playing baseball and softball on local and company teams. He was an avid lifelong hunter and fisherman. Don especially enjoyed following his children and grandchildren in various sports and deer hunting with them.

Don is survived by his wife, Ruth; his five children: Rick (Sharon), King, NC; Patrick (Stephanie), De Pere; David (Karen), Lacombe, LA; Mary (Tom) Sullivan, Green Bay; Kathy (Dr. Tom) Cain, Green Bay; grandchildren: Dr. Chrissi (Pat) Shugart, Jackie (Joe) Liang, Andy Stoehr, Matt (Courtney) Stoehr, Tony (fiancée, Jessica) Stoehr; Sarah, Jacob (Emily), Emily, Rachel, Zachary, Claire, and Olivia Stoehr; Megan, Michael, and Will Sullivan; Henry Cain; Kelly Goldsborough; Eloise Powell; and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Maryann (Jim) Dobratz and Peg (Frank) Millheiser; Ruth’s family: Ellen Baierl and Paul (Diane) Baenen. Don was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Jean Marie; sister, Rosemarie (Ken) Larscheid; in-laws, Rosemary (Dave) Jacobson, Roland Baierl, Norma (John) Davies, Jim (Carol) Baenen, Claire (Larry) DeClerc, Marian (Bob) Smeester, and Peter Baenen.

Family and friends may visit at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave. , from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, followed by the Parish Wake Service at 7 p.m. and the rosary. Visitation will continue at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth St., from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday, January 3.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Patrick C. Beno officiating and will conclude with Military Honors. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
