Obituary for Donald Lee McCune Donald Lee McCune, 83, of Anderson, passed away on December 25, 2018. He was born on November 20, 1935, in Anderson, the son of the late Harvey and Edith (Kemerly) McCune. Don graduated from Pendleton High School in 1955.

He served his country in the United States Navy Reserve for eight years. He was a barber in the Anderson Mall for several years before joining the Anderson Fire Department, and retired in 1996 after 25 years of service. Don also worked at American Playground and Killbuck Valley Sports.

He enjoyed working outdoors, and loved going camping. He also loved his beloved pet “Buffy”. Don attended the Chesterfield Christian Church with Rev.

Ned Clark. Don is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Julia (Smithson) McCune; sons, Scott (Kelly) McCune of North Webster, IN, and Kent (Cherie) McCune of Anderson; step-daughters, Sherry (Phil) Bailey of Albany, IN and Justina Hines of Muncie; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother, Bob (Edna) McCune of Anderson; a dear cousin, Jean McCain of Anderson, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held Friday, December 28, 2018, 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd St. Anderson, IN. Services will be Saturday, December 29, 2018, 10:00 am at the funeral home with Rev.

Ned Clark officiating. Burial will take place in the Anderson Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
