Donald Ray “Donnie” Stinnett, age 71 of Hardinsburg, KY died Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. He was born in Irvington, KY on June 13, 1946, the son of the late James ” Jiggs” and Mary F. Smith Stinnett. Donnie was a used car salesman for 42 years.

He began his career working with his father and brother at Stinnett’s Used Cars. He later owned Selected Used Cars in Hardinsburg, KY. Donnie served 2 years in the United States Army and was a member of Harned United Methodist Church.

He loved being with friends and family, spending time with grandchildren, detailing cars and watching race horses. He enjoyed playing cornhole, croquet and had a passion for the game of basketball. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother James William “Jimmy” Stinnett, Jr. 1 brother-in-law: Leonard Armes niece Kim Armes Phelps and nephew Eddie Armes.

Donnie is survived by his wife Brenda Armes Stinnett of Hardinsburg, KY 2 sons – Michael Stinnett (Stephanie) of Louisville, KY Brian Stinnett of Louisville, KY 1 daughter – Kara Carby (Brad) of Hardinsburg, KY 5 grandchildren: Connor William Stinnett, Kylie Rae Carby, Michael Ray Stinnett, Jr., Kaitlyn Rose Carby and Kendall Renae Carby 1 brother – Steve Stinnett (Marsha) of Clearwater, FL 1 brother-in-law: Wendell Armes (Judy) of Hardinsburg, KY 1 sister-in-law: Dorothy Stinnett of Hardinsburg, KY 2 nieces: Sandra Shrewsberry and Susan Armes Basham 2 nephews: Brad Stinnett and Tony Armes Funeral services will be held at Harned United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11 AM. Burial will be in the Hensley Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, 4-8 PM and Saturday after 8 AM at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home.

Expressions of sympathy are suggested to Horsley Chapel Cemetery, Hensley Cemetery or Harned United Methodist Church.
