Dorinda Cassandra Ellis, 58, of Seville St. Jacksonville, NC passed away Thursday, February 28, at New Hanover Medical Center, Wilmington, NC. She was born June 30, 1960 in Cabarrus County to the late O.C. Douglas and the late Mary Springs. Dorinda was educated in the Cabarrus County and was 1978 graduate of Concord High School.

She went to graduate with a BA from Elizabeth City State University and NC State. She attended Mt. Olive Christian Church.

Services will be held Friday, March 8, 2019 at Clark Funeral Home Chapel, 923 Indiana St., Kannapolis, NC. Visitation will be at 1:00 – 2:00 PM with funeral services following at 2:00 PM. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joey Ford.

Those left to cherish fond memories include three sons, DeWayne Ellis and Joey W. Ellis (Kendra) both of Jacksonville, NC, Dominique Ford of Kannapolis; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Warren Ellis of Concord and Regina Ellis of Kannapolis; one brother, Reginald Ellis of Concord; one uncle, James Ellis (Beverly) of Concord and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
