Doris J. Anton September 25, 1927 July 3, 2018 Gilbert-Doris J. (Davies) Anton, 90, of Sierra Vista passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 with her daughter Linda by her side at Wellspring in Gilbert. Doris, a daughter of the late David and Ethel G. (Caddy) Gilbert was born in Warrington, England on September 25, 1927. Raised and educated in Warrington, England, Doris met her future husband Joseph there at a dance where he offered her a stick of gum.

They went on to Doris J. Anton celebrate 64 years of marriage together. Upon leaving England Joseph and Doris settled in Virginia for a few years and then made Sierra Vista there home for the past 43 years. Doris worked until the age of 75 at Fort Huachuca with the Civil Service as a Personnel Management Specialist.

She enjoyed gardening, watching and feeding the birds. Doris’ greatest enjoyment was spending time with family and friends over a nice cup of tea. In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her husband Joseph who died October 6, 2017, her brother, John Davies and her sister, Hilda Bradshaw.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda M. Anton and a grandson, Logan. Funeral services for Doris will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 10:30 am at Hatfield Funeral Home, 830 South Highway, 92, Sierra Vista. Rites of committal and interment will follow in the Chapel of the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1300 Buffalo Soldiers Trail, Sierra Vista.

Visiting hours for Doris will precede her funeral on Tuesday morning from 9:00 am until the time of the service at 10:30 am.
