Doris Mae Kuchta, 90, of Braceville, passed on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at the Laurie Ann Nursing Home in Newton Falls. Born Jan. 30, 1928, in Freedom Station, Doris was the daughter of Harlan and Louetta Smith Kropp.

She was a graduate of Freedom High School and later would become a licensed beautician. Doris met her future husband, John “Bud” Kuchta, while roller skating at the roller rink in Drakesburg. They would marry on her birthday in 1947 at the Drakesburg Methodist Church.

The couple were longtime residents of Braceville, where Doris operated Doris’ Beauty Shop. She was able to operate her business while raising her family. However, her role as homemaker was the most valuable to her.

Doris was an active member of the Braceville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being with her friends while bowling, playing cards and playing bingo. At home, Doris enjoyed cooking, baking, flower gardening and sewing.

Doris would never miss attending the baseball games of her children and grandchildren. She looked forward to the family gatherings. Doris was a strong lady with a sense of humor and was always there for everyone.

Loving memories of Doris will be carried on by her family, her sons, Dell Kuchta, Dennis (Carol) Kuchta and David (Libby) Kuchta; her eight grandchildren; her eight great-grandchildren; and her brother, Harlan Kropp, Jr. Preceding Doris were her parents; her husband, John, on April 16, 2008; and her brother, Robert Kropp. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2018, at the Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls, where a service will follow with the Rev. Joan Purnell officiating.

Interment will be in Braceville Township Cemetery. Material tributes may be made in memory of Doris to the Braceville United Methodist Church, 589 Park St. SW, Newton Falls, Ohio 44444.
