Doris Moore Gause, 87, widow of Bruce L. Gause, died Friday, May 25, 2018, at McLeod Hospice House, after an illness. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, May 27, 2018, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, with burial to follow at High Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Scranton. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM, Sunday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gause was born on March 10, 1931 in Florence, daughter of the late Jeneral Francis “Robbie” Moore and Clara Bell Parrott Moore. She was the retired co-owner of Colonial Inn in Florence. Mrs. Gause was a longtime member of High Hill Free Will Baptist Church and later a member of Northside Baptist Church.

She was a devoted Christian, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and her greatest desire would be for everyone to join her in her heavenly home. Surviving are her son, Jon (Carol) Gause of Florence; grandchildren, Barret (Nicole) Gause and Joshua (Megan) Gause, both of Florence; Virginia “Ginny” Gause of Woodruff, Nancy (John) Truluck, III of Summerville, Rebecca “Becky” Gause and Zachary “Zack” Gause, both of Scranton; great grandchildren, Cooper, Emily and Grace; and a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Smith Gause. Mrs. Gause was preceded in death by a son, Nelson B. Gause; brothers, Hubert Moore, Jack Moore and Billy Moore; and a sister, Jewel Fann.
