Obituary for Dorothy Ann Byers Dorothy Ann Byers, 88, a long time Muskogee resident, passed away Sunday morning November 18, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Muskogee. A native of Tulsa, Dorothy was born May 30, 1930 to Hasten P. and Emma A. Wooldridge. She was the third of six children.
Dorothy was united in marriage to William C. Byers on June 11, 1949 and they were happily married for 54 years until Bill’s death in December 2003. Their union was blessed with four children. Together they made their home in Tulsa, then in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and eventually moved to Muskogee in 1971.
Faith and family were very important to Dorothy. She was a devout Catholic and an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church until her health diminished. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; and her brothers, David and Paul Wooldridge.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Suzanne Murray and husband Kevin of Schaumberg, IL, William Michael Byers and wife Kristen of Ada, OK, Margaret Richter and husband Roger of Muskogee, OK, and Carolyn Reich and husband Joseph of Redwood City, CA; nine grandchildren, Patrick Murray and wife Dana, Erin Peri and husband Mike, Christopher Byers and wife Juliet, Andrew Byers and wife Lizabeth, Michael Byers, Dr. Roger Richter III and wife Tammy, Alexander Richter, Kendall Reich, and Rylan Reich; two special great-granddaughters, Adelaide and Hannah; siblings, Marian Murphy, Richard Wooldridge and Eugene Wooldridge all of Tulsa, OK, along with a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., Friday, November 23, 2018 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, November 24, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Richard F. Cristler officiating.
Private interment will be at Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee on Monday November 26, 2018. Serving as pallbearers will be Dorothy’s grandsons Patrick Murray, Christopher Byers, Andrew Byers, Dr. Roger Richter III, Alexander Richter, Michael Byers, and Rylan Reich. Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Murray, Roger Richter II, and Joseph Reich.
