Private graveside services for Dorothy Irene Tidwell Kilgore Largent, 93, of Lufkin, will be held at a later date. Mrs. Largent was born June 12, 1925 in Paris, Texas, and died Friday, July 27, 2018 at her residence. She passed from this life after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s while under the loving care of Jennifer, Melissa, and Donna with Affinity Hospice.

Mrs. Largent is survived by her daughter, Velinda Fay Adams of Lufkin; grandson and wife, Keven and Marian Adams of Amarillo; grandson and wife, Colin and Gracie Adams of Galveston; great-grandchildren, Kenneth Adams, Courtney Adams, and Perry Adams, all of Amarillo, and Dakota Adams and Sierra Adams, both of Galveston; long time dear friend, Dorothy Hogue; and caregiver friend, Rose Malone. In lieu of flowers, special memorials may be made to either the preacher training program at Loop 287 Church of Christ, 1911 S. John Redditt Dr., Lufkin, Texas 75904 or Affinity Hospice 2708 S. Medford Dr., Lufkin, Texas 75901. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 30, 2018 at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
