Obituary for Dorothy Renee Ward Dorothy Renee Ward, 43, went home to be with the Lord on August 28, 2018, from complications of Aplastic Anemia at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. Renee fought a gallant fight for four months after being diagnosed with this rare disease. She loved spending time with her family, watching her daughter, Taylor, play softball, and talking to her friends and special softball daughters at the ball park.

She loved watching movies and shopping with her daughter, Allison. Her husband, Chuck, was truly her soulmate and they shared an unbreakable bond. He was her constant support and caregiver through her illness.

She was very fond of her job and work friends at Walmart, as department manager in produce. She was a true farm girl that loved her animals, flowers, and garden. She was truly one of a kind and a joy to be around; always full of laughter and fun.

Family holidays and “get togethers” will never be the same without her. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Theodore and Anna Jane (Granny) Helton; paternal grandparents, John and Ina Parson; her mother, Dorothy Pearl Parson. She is survived by her husband, Charles Ward; daughters, Allison Ward and Taylor Ward of the home; father, Marvin Parson; brother, Chris Parson; step-children, William Ward and Courtney Ward; father and mother-in-law, Randy and Chassie Gilreath; special cousin, Haley Gilliam; several sister and brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday, September 10, 2018, at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville. A celebration of life service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Hugh Minor officiating.
