Obituary for Dorothy Shuler Print Dorothy A. Shuler, born June 21, 1935, a lifelong resident of Long Branch died peacefully on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. Dottie was a sales associate for Macy’s for over 35 years before retiring. She was a hard worker and took pride in her work.

Dottie had a great sense of humor. She often made us laugh with stories of her youth and growing up in Seaview Manor. She was a super baker and cook and took pride in her immaculate household.

She had a caring heart and spent most of her retirement caring for her older sister Connie. She was an avid Scrabble player and if we had a question “Encyclopedia Brown” had the answer. Above all she loved watching political news.

She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Mattie Shuler, her brother Joseph (Brother) Shuler, sisters, Barbara Garnes, Constance (Connie) Shuler, Mary (Frankie) White, Betty Jane (Janie) Randell and Margaret (Noonie) Shuler. Surviving are her brother Richard Shuler of San Antonio TX, 2 sisters Brenda Shuler of Long Branch and Phyllis Anderson of Sierra Vista AZ, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 10:30am until 12:00pm at Trinity AME Church 64 Liberty Street in Long Branch.

There will be a repast following the service at Hobart Manor Community Room, 76 Joline Ave. in Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society, 2310 Hwy 34, Suite 1D, Manasquan, NJ 08736.
