Obituary for Douglas Edward McLean Douglas Edward McLean, 76, entered peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior Tuesday, December 25, 2018, following a brief battle with cancer. He was born November 9, 1942 in Port Huron, MI to the late Roger McLean and Wilhelmina Tracy. Before retirement, he worked as a die maker at Chrysler for 15 years and as a metal model maker at General Motors for 29 years.

He was a proud member of the UAW and served as deacon at his church, Our Saviour Lutheran. Doug was also preceded in death by his dear stepfather, Leslie Tracy. He is survived by the love of his life – his wife of 57 years, Shirley; his three children, Tamara and husband Joseph Wojcik, Candace and husband Anthony Mowery, and Douglas McLean II and partner Kenn Phipps; his grandchildren Amanda, Jordan, Brandon, Ryan, Melani, Ian, Evan and Owen; his great-grandchildren Arwen, Brayden, Scarlett and Chandler; and his three siblings, Jill Tracy and partner Gary Scheiner, Gale Kunderas and Jack Tracy.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Port Huron, MI. It was the simple things around Doug in life that he never took for granted, commenting daily how fortunate and thankful he was. Above all, Doug was absolutely devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren.

He was a father who always involved himself in their lives and supported, respected and loved his wife unconditionally. He was a man of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ’s love and the beauty and peace that would await him after his passing.
