Douglas George Yontz, 85 of Salinas passed away peacefully Sunday, January 6, 2019. He was born July 11, 1933 in Berkley, Michigan. Doug proudly served in the in the Korean War.

After spending 13 years in the Armed Forces, Doug continued his career working for the Government as a Civil Servant in Construction Management until he retired. Doug truly lived life to the fullest. He loved working with his hands making furniture, custom fishing rods and tying flies only to travel the country in search of the best fishing hole.

But most importantly, he loved being with friends and family. He will be greatly missed by all. He is preceded in death by his wife Patti.

They were married for 56 wonderful years. He is survived by his son; Michael (Christine) Yontz, of Salinas, daughter; Denise Yontz, of Reno, 3 grandchildren; Christopher, Sarah and Jessica and 5 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00p.m.-5:00p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Salinas Elks Lodge, 614 Airport Blvd.
