Obituary of Dr. Duncan Wells Dr. Duncan Buchanan Wells, DDS, 54, died unexpectedly at his Pocomoke City home on Friday, June 8, 2018. Born on February 16, 1964 in Salisbury, MD, he was the son of the late, Dr. Benjamin S. “Sarge” Wells, DDS and Helen Shaw Wells. Following his graduation from James M. Bennett High School in 1982, he went on to pursue his dream of following in his father’s and grandfather’s footprints by becoming a third generation dentist.
He graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Washington College and then went on to complete dental school at the University of Maryland, College of Dental Surgery. Duncan was a faithful member of Salem United Methodist church. He had served as a past President of the Pocomoke City Rotary International Club, a board member of the Pocomoke YMCA, was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity, and was a member of the Maryland State Dental Association.
He loved all sports including running, and bicycling and was an avid Ravens, Orioles and Washington Capitals fan. Above all else he loved and supported his family in all of their endeavors. Duncan is survived by his wife, Anne Marie Connick Wells, two daughters, Katherine Rebecca Wells, Margaret “Maggie” Elizabeth Wells and one son, John “Jack” Duncan Wells all of Pocomoke City, MD; two brothers, Benjamin Sargent Wells, III of Snow Hill, MD, and Douglas Hall Wells and his wife Mary Ann of Selbyville, DE; father and mother- in-law, Thomas and Shirley Connick of Severna Park, MD; three brothers-in-law, Tom Connick, Mike Connick and Hank Connick and his wife Maureen; nieces and nephews, Sam, Maddie and Abby Connick and David and Kelly Wells and their sons, Connor and Reagan.
In addition to his parents, Duncan was preceded in death by a brother, David Shaw Wells. Family and friends will gather for a visitation on Monday, June 11 from 5-7 PM at the Holloway Funeral Home in Pocomoke City. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Noon at the Salem United Methodist Church in Pocomoke City, where an additional visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Rev. Brian Albert will officiate. Interment will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Pocomoke City, MD.
