Obituary of Omar Stoltzfus Omar Stoltzfus, 94, of Salisbury, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 peacefully at Aurora Senior Living of Manokin. Born on November 20, 1923 in Elverson, PA, he was the son of the late David and Sadie Mast Stoltzfus. At an early age, Omar worked as a farmer in both Pennsylvania and Maryland.

Following his career as a farmer, he owned and operated Omar Stoltzfus Trucking in Delmar for a number years until his final employment with National Vault. He was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church and the Methodist Men. Omar enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and flying his airplane.

Most of all he enjoyed reading and memorizing from the Bible and a collection of devotional books. Omar is survived by two daughters, Ruth Bates and her husband William, Sr. of Princess Anne and Mary Jane Eby and her husband Merle of Snow Hill; a son, David Stoltzfus of Snow Hill; 5 grandchildren: Brian Eby, Beth Hess, Elaine Kauffman, Katrina Pavelko, and Joy Schnelli; thirteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Mast Stoltzfus and his wife Anna; four sisters: Edna Ebersole, Lois Petersheim, Esther Wilson, and Rebecca Leatherman; a daughter-in-law, Jean Cann and her husband Howard; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Omar was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Ross Stoltzfus; two sons, Omar Stoltzfus, Jr., and Lee Stoltzfus, as well as three brothers and three sisters.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 11:00 am at Bethesda UM Church in Salisbury. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Rev.

Bob Miller and Dr. Dan Rich will officiate. Interment will follow in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethesda United Methodist Memorial Fund, Division St., Salisbury, MD 21801.
