Obituary of Duane “Dewy” Riselay Duane George Riselay, 63, of Saginaw, our loving, caring, hardworking, and most devoted father, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on the afternoon of Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Covenant – Cooper. Duane was born in Saginaw on November 19, 1955, the son of Maurice G. Riselay and the former Edna Wagner. He was a 1974 graduate of Arthur Hill High School .

In 1990, Dewy was united in marriage to the former Susan J. Phillips. A skilled and talented carpenter, Dewy’s life work was devoted to helping others with his talents. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and enjoyed boating, fishing, and of course woodworking and working with his hands.

Dewy leaves to cherish his memory, his two children, Kevin Riselay and Kirsten Riselay; mother, Edna Hanson; siblings, Maurice D. Riselay, Barbara (Oz) Wotchko, Diane (Galen) Turner, Debra (Cliff) Porter, Mary (Tod) Richard, and Mark (Kathy) Riselay; mother-in-law, Rosalie Phillips; in-laws, Zeph (Sapa) Phillips II, Francis Wachner, and Jon (Nancy) Phillips, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. Dewy was welcomed home to heaven by his father, Maurice Riselay; wife, Susan J. Riselay, and father-in-law, Zeph Phillips . Duane’s family will be present to receive visitors on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 4:00 PM until the time of Duane’s 6:00 PM Life Celebration at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services (formerly Reitz-Herzberg), 1550 Midland Rd.

, between State & Gratiot. Burial will be held privately in Forest Lawn Cemetery . In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family, c/o Kevin Riselay.
