Obituary of Duane Wright Duane E. Wright, 79, of Jamesville, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 at Iroquois Nursing Home. He was born January 12, 1940, in Syracuse, the son of the late Earl and Charlotte Ransom Wright and was a graduate of Jamesville-DeWitt High School. He was a US Navy veteran.

For many years, Duane was a foreman and steamfitter with several contractors in the Syracuse area. He was a member of the Local Steamfitters Union. Duane enjoyed woodworking and spending winters in Florida.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Phyllis C. Dorazio Smith Wright; a daughter, Valerie Helm of DeWitt; a son, Duane Wright, Jr., of North Syracuse; a stepdaughter, Melanie Coleman of Dover, NH; a stepson, Gregg Smith of Myerstown, PA; a sister, Judy Loder of The Villages, FL; four grandsons; three step grandchildren; in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his first wife, Nancy Wright; and a granddaughter. A celebration of his life will be announced this summer, to be held at his home in Jamesville.

Private interment will be in Jamesville-Walnut Grove Cemetery. In memory of Duane, kindly consider a donation to the Jamesville Fire Department. Arrangements are with Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel.
