Obituary of Jeanne Friedel Jeanne DeWitt Friedel was the daughter of the late Ruth Lucile Frisbie and Harold Nichols DeWitt. She was born November 22, 1925, met and ultimately married Arthur C. Friedel, Jr. who passed away July 30, 2009. She passed away February 25, 2019.

She was the women’s editor of the Syracuse Post Standard during the time on her wedding on June 21st to ACF, Jr She was a member of the Cazenovia Watercolor Society, Monday Book Club, Ladies Association of Christmas Cove, Maine, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Syracuse, where she was on the Flower Committee and the National Cathedral Guild. She was also a member of the English Speaking Union of America, the Junior League of Syracuse and the Samaritan Center, where she served and volunteered within the community.

Her hobbies included photography, needlepoint, reading, knitting and watercolor painting. She is survived by her son, Arthur C. Friedel, III; her daughter, Susan Wright (Robert); four grandchildren, Jessica, Mackenzie, Amanda and Michael Doyle (Samantha); her great grandson, Lucas Stetson Holt; her great granddaughter, Emmerie Jeanne Holt; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Chamberlain and Alice Havens.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date to be announced at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Syracuse. There are no calling hours. Contributions may be made to “Friends of Music’ choir at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 220 E. Fayette Church, Syracuse, NY 13202.
