MILLBORO, VIRGINIA – Durwood Lee Counts, 73, died Monday, May 27, 2019, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, Virginia. He was born on Neeley Ridge, Virginia; son of the late Arthur and Violet Rasnick Counts. He was preceded in death by his two sisters: Lorraine Blevins and Charlotte Counts; one brother, H. Lyman Counts.

He was a State Farm Insurance Agent, Mason, and was of the Baptist Faith. He graduated from Haysi High School, attended Pikeville College, and graduated from Lincoln Memorial University. He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Helen Rasnick Counts; two sisters, Rita Vance and Paula Gregory; one brother, Wayne Counts; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services and Interment for Durwood Lee Counts will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019, in Kiser-Rasnick Cemetery, North Hazel Mountain, Dickenson County, Virginia with Rev. Dwaine Rasnick officiating and music by Craig Counts. Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019 in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia. A Memorial Service for Durwood Lee Counts will be held at a later date in the Bath County-Allegheny County area.
