Edith P. “Edie” Hess, 87, lived in Lawn for 55 years before residing at their home in Maytown for her last 2 ½ years where she passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018. Born March 20, 1931 in Hummelstown, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Lavina (Bell) Page and was also preceded in death by sons William Hess and Steven L. Hess, Sr., husband of Kathy (Williams) Hess. Surviving are her husband of 64 years Howard Hess; children Robin, husband of Marilyn Hess, Faith, wife of Douglas Lamb, Mary, wife of Steven Keefer and Lavina, wife of Menno Riggleman; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.

Edie had a lifelong desire to serve her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and was also devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren. A farm wife, she later worked 27 years for Hershey Foods before retiring the same time as her husband. During retirement, she helped her husband pastor Calvary Bible Church of Colebrook.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 26, 2018 at LifeGate, 5636 Bossler Road, Elizabethtown preceded by a viewing beginning at 9:45 AM. Interment at 3:00 PM Saturday in Marticville Cemetery, Pequea. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Homeland Hospice, 2300 Vartan Way, Suite 270, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
