Edward’s Obituary Edward J Sandor Sr., age 94, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, in Duluth, MN. He was born September 1, 1924, in the Town of Kelly, the son of Christopher and Katherine (Furajter) Sandor. When he was 18 years old, he worked in the Superior shipyards.

On September 16, 1950, he married Jane Leren, in Ashland. Edward worked on his family dairy farm his entire life. Since 1961, he was the owner and operator of Ranch Park picnic and camping area.

Edward was a folk artist and a wonderful woodcarver. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, in Dauby, lifelong member of JEDNOTA, and a 20 year board member of the Town of Kelly. Edward enjoyed training horses, animals, and loved his dogs, Lady, Wheezy, and Penny.

His greatest joy was the visits he had, every Sunday from his great-grandchildren, Piper and Jack Sandor. He is survived by his five children, Edward (Diane) Sandor Jr., Ashland, Sherrie (Tom) Weston, Menasha, Barbara (David) Stock, Superior, Scott (Jeannine) Sandor, Ashland, and Richard (Karen) Sandor, Menomonee; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a special niece, Jean Jablonski, Ashland; and other nieces, nephew, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jane on May 31, 1998; a grandson, Adam Weston; five brothers, Steve, Carl, Chris, John, and Tony Sandor; and a sister, Mary Sandor.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 12, 2019 at St. Peter Catholic Church, in Dauby, with Father Ducanh Pham officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, on Saturday, at the church. Spring interment will take place in the St. Peter Cemetery, in Dauby.

Arrangements are by Frost Home for Funerals, in Ashland.
