Obituary for Edward W. Folkman Sr. Edward W. Folkman Sr., 81, husband of Denise Beimler-Folkman Sr., died on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving friends after a short illness. Born in Waterbury, CT on November 9, 1937, he resided in Meriden and graduated from Wilcox Technical High School. Mr. Folkman was employed by Yankee Silversmith, Blue Cross Blue Sheild and was a mason, actively volunteering at the Masonic Temple.
He was also a boy scout den leader. Edward proudly served his country in the Air Force and was stationed in Alaska and Wyoming. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his ex-wife Joann Gibbs-Folkman-Young; his three sons, John, David and Edward Jr., all of Florida; and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by long-time loving friend and companion, Rose Smith, loving close friend, Vicki Ambro and long-time childhood friend, Bruce Bristol. He was predeceased by his wife, Denise Beimler, his grandson Damien Becroft and close dear friend Laura Becroft.
Family and friends are invited to attend services in the chapel at the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans.
