Eileen R. Chittister, 89, DuBois, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Penn Highlands DuBois. Born April 5, 1929, in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Sarah E. (Hand) Kessler. On June 7, 1947, she married Franklin “Frank” L. Chittister in DuBois.

He survives. Eileen graduated from Sandy High School in 1946. She retired as a packer from Brockway Glass.

She was an avid NASCAR fan, especially Kyle Petty. Eileen also enjoyed her Beanie Baby collection, traveling to Disney with her grandkids, upholding Christmas traditions, and spending time with her children and grandkids. Eileen is survived by three children, Carl D. (Bernadette) Chittister, DuBois, Linda D. Michael, Florida, and Debra A. (James) Antonio, Weedville; eleven grandchildren, Jody Joiner, Jennifer Michael, Becky Clinton, Donald J. Michael, Jason Michael, Jessica Hazuda, C.J. Chittister, Keri Chittister, Corey Chittister, Christopher Antonio, and Stephanie Tindel; seventeen great-grandchildren, Nicole Moore, Colton Joiner, Kayla Brooks, Kelly Monaghan, Kambree Clinton, Donald Michael Jr., Lillyana, Zachary, and Ronni Lynn Michael, Aiden and Aubree Keller, Pryce and Penn Hazuda, Katelynn Prince, Holden Fedigin, Trisat Chittister, and Zackaria Hoffman; three great-great-grandchildren, Kyla and Chase Moore, and Rowan Monaghan; a sister, Helen Carlson, DuBois, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and seven brothers. Friends and family will be received Thursday, June 28th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Friday, June 29th from 10-11 a.m. at the Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc. Following Friday’s visitation, a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel with Rev. Corben Russell officiating.

Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Mt. Zion UMC, 16 Denton Ave.
