In Warm Memory of Elizabeth Ann Einang (Betsy) Frey January 4, 1946–May 30, 2018 Betsy was a loving and caring woman who knew as a child she wanted to be a nurse. She would half joke that “nurses always get you in the end”. Betsy spent most of her professional life caring for sick and premature babies as a NICU nurse at Kaiser.

She passed away peacefully with her husband and four children by her side, listening to Elton John. Betsy and Bob celebrated over 50 years of marriage together, and are a beacon for the families they raised and their extended circles, both as wildly complementary individuals and a beautifully well-rounded couple. She was both intensely sweet and doting, with a pure sparkle in her eye whenever she held a baby, and fiercely strong, who would then channel the spirit of a bear to transform her otherwise diminutive figure into a force of nature.

Her love and laughter lives on in our hearts and especially the unmistakable resemblance found in her grandchildren that she helped deliver, nurtured, and cared so dearly for. Betsy is survived by her adoring husband, Robert Charles Frey, Jr.; her four close and dear children: Rebecca Lynn, Teri Einang, Christopher Martin, and Mark Douglas; and her stable of doting grandchildren: October Martin, Sophie Rose, Bruno Gabriello, Francesca Sofia, Jackson Robert, Charles Benjamin, and Maxwell Oliver. Rest in love and light, Bets.
