Darlene Zink was released from the limits of this mortal world Friday night, October 26, 2018. Her passage through the veil leaves a void here but, now unencumbered by the limits of mortality, she took her light to others who welcomed her home. Darlene was a native of Sacramento and born to V. H. Zink and Sarah Stout Zink on March 18, 1940.

She was the sister of the late Pamela Rae Zink Skelly. During her active years she was employed at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co in Sunnyvale, CA where she built the rockets flown by the first astronauts. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and an exemplary “every day missionary” of its teaching to the end.

Even during her years of failing health she was joyfully sharing the good news, talking to others, and handing out copies of the Book of Mormon. While her body may have failed over the years her spirit never faltered and all who knew her admired her her positive outlook and her patient submission to the troubles of this life. To the end of this life she was generous to all she came in contact with.

Her life will be celebrated at a memorial service on Thursday, November 1st at 11:00 am at Oak Park Hills Chapel, 3111 North Main, Walnut Creek. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the missionary fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Donations may be made to: LDS Philanthropies/Missionary Fund 1450 N.
