Jose Ruben Socorro, 82, of Concord, CA, passed away on October 2, 2018 in Walnut Creek, CA. Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 3rd, at Oak Park Hills Chapel in Walnut Creek. His remains will be laid to rest in a private ceremony on November 5th at the Memory Gardens in Concord.

Jose was born in Manila, Philippines to Jose Macario and Pacita Paredes on 4/9/1936. He attended and graduated from the University of the Philippines. He was married to Teresa Payawal from 1962-1970.

He then later remarried in 1973 to Suzanne Stockel. He worked as a chemical engineer for Bechtel for 27 years and travelled the world extensively throughout his tenure. Jose Socorro is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Suzanne Socorro.

Jose is survived by his three sons and their spouses Antonio/Balbir, Albert/Maite, Michael/Nina and grandchildren Gavin, Samuel, Nya, Caleb and older sister Rubi Carsi-Cruz. The family of Jose wishes to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who has offered their support and expressions of sympathy.
