Obituary for Elizabeth Celeste Gorman Elizabeth Celeste Gorman, 79, died on November 11, 2018 at Nazareth Home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Bill Gorman, with whom she built a strong psychotherapy practice. She instrumental in establishing the AAMFT in Kentucky and was awarded that organization’s highest honor, being named a Fellow.

Celeste was born in Johnson City, Tennessee to Mildred and James Dalton and came to Kentucky to the Academy at Nazareth in Bardstown, the school her mother attended, as did her sister, Diana Dalton of Greenville, North Carolina, who survives her. Celeste entered the community of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth and subsequently taught at Presentation Academy for more than ten years. In 1973 Celeste and Bill Gorman married and began their careers as Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists in Gorman, Inc. Celeste loved her work which allowed her to help people to solve their problems and enjoy life.

In addition to her sister Diana, Celeste is survived by her sister’s daughter, Janet Guy (Adam) of Roosevelt Island, NY, her brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Barbara Gorman and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 11am-3pm on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, “in St. Matthews”. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am on Friday, November 16, 2018 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 7813 Shelbyville Road followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery.
