Obituary for Mary Ann Krebs Mary Ann Krebs (née McDonald) Born in Louisville on April 2, 1939 to Mildred and Dennis J. McDonald, both deceased, Mary Ann gently passed away on November 12th. Mary Ann adored her family. Son Mike, daughter Libby, loving granddaughters Andrea Krebs and Julia Tross, siblings Patti (Larry) Mattingly and Dennis A. McDonald, multitudes of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins…all of whom adored her and her ability to lovingly bring the family together from both near and far.

Oh, the celebrations she hosted! Music was the second love of her life. All music, but she considered opera the Queen.

She saw her first opera “Carmen” at five years old. She later began volunteering with the Kentucky Opera and eventually became the Executive Director, always keeping opera close to her heart. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mary Ann’s life on Thursday, November 15th, from 3pm to 8pm in the Pigment Gallery at The Mellwood Art Center, 1860 Mellwood Avenue in Louisville.

Burial will be conducted privately at Cavalry Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Fund for the Arts, In Memory of Mary Ann Krebs, 623 W Main Street #200, Louisville, Ky 40202.
