Ella May Christison passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus at her home in Eagle River, WI, at the age of ninety-five and a half, on Saturday, June 23, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was born in Omaha, NB, on December 13, 1922. She is survived by a sister (Elaine Denson Marsh) and a brother (Kenneth Denson), four children (Robert E English and wife Susan, Wales ME; Marcia English-Pluess, Eagle River WI; Mary English-Lochte and her husband William, Eagle River WI, and Deborah English-Patterson… Read More » and her husband Heinz, Glenwood IA), ten grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brothers, sisters, and a grandson, David English, who will have already welcomed her as she rests in peace in the presence of God. Ella was a loving wife and mother, always young in spirit and at heart, and as beautiful the day she passed as she was on her wedding day. She loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, cooking/baking, quilting, and gardening, and will be remembered for the joy and balance she brought into the lives of so many people.

She was an intelligent, detail oriented, woman who worked at Globe Union in the department making parts for the first space craft to the moon. Ella was 8th Grade Valedictorian, and graduated from a 2-year program with 34 credits in 1941 from Gershmeyer Tech, Terre Haute, IN. She married Edwin W English in 1942, and they had four children who, along with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, have enjoyed the positive influence of her love and devotion, sound instruction, and valuable guidance.

Ella’s family and friends will be celebrating her life on Monday, July 2, 2018, as they gather at the Conover Evangelical Free Church for services at 10:00 am. Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that donations are made to Boys Town.
