Obituary for Ellen Hailwood (Nicholas) Ellen J. Hailwood, 80, of Renovo, PA, passed away on Thursday November 1, 2018 following a brief illness. She was the eldest of three daughters of the late Robert and Dorothy Nicholas. Ellen loved traveling, plays and musicals, social gatherings, cooking and gardening.

She was known for her kind and compassionate nature. Her delightful smile and adventurous spirit will be missed by all of her friends and loved ones. Survivors include her husband, Joseph; her sister, Lori Mangold, her three daughters, Karen Hund, Wendy Bigelow and Sandra Hund; and her grandchildren, Johnny, Mary Emily, Nicole, Brianna, Morgan, and her Godson, Kyle.

Ellen was preceded in death by her sister “Nicky” Horwath and her son-in-law John Bigelow. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church, Erie, PA for family and friends. There will be a private burial in Charlotte, NC.
