Elmer Leroy Speck, age 97 formerly of York Springs, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in Los Angeles, CA. He was born on Thursday, March 3, 1921, a son of the late Elmer Roy and Addie J. (Larew) Speck. Elmer was veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant.

After his time in the service, he attended the University of Southern California, graduating with a degree in accounting. In 1948, Elmer married Elizabeth Mary Caulfield from New England in Los Angeles at St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

They lived in the Los Angeles area until 1952. Elmer and Elizabeth then moved to Manhassett Long Island, New York where Elmer was employed as a high placed executive for the New York Port Authority. In 1959, Elmer and Elizabeth returned to California where they settled in Monterey Park when he was position as CFO of Armored Transport.

Elizabeth Mary passed away in 1976 from breast cancer. On March 22, 1986 Elmer married Ilse Anna Gradwohl of Gtaz, Austria. Elmer lived out his life married to Ilse and living in the same house in Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles until his passing.

Arrangements are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., Bendersville. Burial was private.
