Elsie’s Obituary Elsie Marie Coplea, 94, of Urbana, formerly of Paxton passed away 4:55 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Illini Heritage Rehab and Health Care Center, Champaign. A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2019 at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells, Paxton with Rev. Debra Domeier officiating.

Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton. Elsie was born July 31, 1924 in Melvin the daughter of Maude and Claude Johansen. She married Leonard H. Coplea.

He preceded her in death March 20, 1980. She is survived by one daughter, Judy Foster of Urbana; one grandson, Tony (Rhonda) Foster of Urbana; four great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Florence Custer of Joliet and Jean Petersen of Gilman. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three brothers, Roy, Kenneth and Don Johansen.

Elsie was a member of First Lutheran Church, Paxton and a former church council member. She was a babysitter for local families for many years and had worked in housekeeping at the Illinois Knights Templar Home, Paxton 1981-1992. Elsie enjoyed gardening and spending time with family.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or an organization of the donor’s choice. Condolences may be offered at www. baierfuneralservices.com.
