Obituary for Emma Jane Crosby Emma Jane Crosby (Cramer), 94 of Ault, was born July 10, 1923 to Ira Norton and Ida Jane (Montgomery) Cramer on a homestead outside of Broadus, MT. She grew up in Broadus and attended and graduated from high school there. Her family moved to Sacramento, CA, for her father to work in the ship yards.

Her parents moved back to Montana a short time later as her father was diagnosed with MS. She spent 6 months in Juneau, AK, but returned to Montana. She met and married Harry Crosby on March 19, 1946.

They lived in Miles City, MT for a while, then southern Idaho with his parents, Mont and Amy Crosby. They eventually moved to Denver, CO for Harry had a job at Robbinson Bricks Tile Company. In July of 1954 a daughter, Connie Jo, was born.

Emma had miscarried 5 babies in the years prior to that birth. In the following years she worked as a store clerk, and at various printing shops. In 1968 their little family moved to Greeley, CO.

Shortly thereafter she started working at the Greeley Tribune. She retired from the Tribune in 1980. She moved to Azusa, CA for a few years and then to Missoula, MT, where she had a brother and sisters.

She moved back to Ault, CO in March 0f 1988, where she lived for the rest of her days until her passing. She was the last living member of her immediate family. Emma enjoyed reading, spending time in the mountains and visiting with people.

She loved bright, colorful, cheery flowers for each season. She could be very particular about how things were placed and done. She enjoyed eating out Golden Corral (which she called Coney Island), Village Inn and loved KFC.

But her most favorite food of all was Kellie Davies custard pie and Sue’s baked custard with nutmeg. This was the last thing she ate before passing at TRU Hospice in Greeley on April 11, 2018. Her heart warming and bright smile, loving generosity and ornery sense of humor will be so greatly missed by all.

Her daughter Connie Erickson with husband Ted reside in Nunn, CO; grandson Jarrod Davis lives in Greeley, CO; grandchildren Jennifer (Erickson) Wagner and her husband Jason of Ft. Collins and Justin Erickson of Wyoming; as well as great grandson Lane and his brothers Dakota and Ty. Emma has several nieces and nephews still living.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harry; her parents Ira and Ida Cramer; sisters Wilma Rhodes of Seattle, WA, Beulah Cole of Missoula, MT and Norma Camp of Helena, MT; brothers Forrest Crays of Denver, CO, and Samuel Cramer of Azusa, CA.
