Obituary for Eric Nilsson Dateline: Jerseyville Eric Nilsson, 61, died at 5:50 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2018 at Jerseyville Manor. Born July 7, 1956 in Alton, he was the son of Roland and Barbara Lee (Henderson) Nilsson. Eric retired from Illinois Power as a heavy equipment operator.

On July 14, 1995 he married the former Connie Free in Alton. She survives. Also surviving is a son, Justin Nilsson of Alton, a brother and sister-in-law, Craig and Ann Nilsson of Astoria, Oregon, a niece, Hallie Nilsson and a nephew, Ned Nilsson.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Ned Nilsson. There will be a private family service at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
