Eugene “Gene” Vaughn of Crest Hill, IL, formerly of Mendota, Burbank, and Chicago, IL, went home to be with the Lord on April 26, 2018 at age 87, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife Shirlee (Williams) Vaughn, two sisters Leona Gambrel and June (Richard) Keely; his daughter Amy Llyn Vaughn; three sons Gene (Debbie) Vaughn, David (Fern) Vaughn and Gregg (Monica) Vaughn, as well as 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna (Stinnett) Vaughn; two brothers William “Bill” (Mary) Vaughn, Ken (Diane) Vaughn; two half-brothers Fred Kurgan and Timothy Kurgan and one grandson Dustin Vaughn.

Visitation will be held at Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, 1500 Black Rd, Joliet, IL, Thursday May 3, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.. Interment will be Friday May 4, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL.
