Obituary for Mary Rose Bucciarelli Mary Rose Bucciarelli (nee Zenz) Peacefully passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home. She was born in Mansfield, Ohio on April 16, 1923 to the late Albert and Della Zenz. Preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Ernest Bucciarelli (2009); her sisters, Kathleen Zenz Clendenin, Elizabeth Zenz Iozzo and Sister Lillian Zenz OSF.

Mary Rose was one of five children and is survived by her brother, Albert (Lois) Zenz and members of Ernest’s family, including his four sons, Barry (Patrice), Gregory (Sally), Douglas (Karen) and Todd (Gina) Bucciarelli; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and by numerous nieces and nephews. Mary Rose professed her vows as Sister M. Giovanni OSF in Joliet, Illinois. She graduated from St. Francis Academy High School and earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the College of St. Francis.

Mary Rose taught vocal music, piano, English, Religion and Kindergarten class in Ohio and Illinois. She served her church, students and the Franciscan Sisters of Mary Immaculate with loving happiness. She was released from her vows on her request in 1973.

She was a talented Seamstress and Quilter. Mary Rose served as the organist for St. Joseph’s Church in Rockdale for 40 years, along with her husband Ernest as soloist/cantor. Mary Rose and Ernest also provided music for several civic and private events.

Mary Rose moved to Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home in 2011, where she loved sharing her kindness, music and stories with everyone. The family is thankful to everyone at Our Lady of Angels for their 7 years of loving care to Mary Rose, as well as, a special thank you to Compassionate Care Hospice and Mary Rose’s devoted friends. Visitation for Mary Rose Bucciarelli will be held at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, 1201 Wyoming Ave.

Joliet on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 9:30am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home or Compassionate Care Hospice would be appreciated.
