Obituary for George C. Brown Jr. Of Shorewood passed away at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, Monday, May 28, 2018. Age 80 years. Survived by his loving wife of 57 years Greta N. Brown (nee DeVries), a son George T. (Traci) Brown and a daughter Vivian A. (Ronald) Egyed.

Three grandchildren Thomas Egyed, Victoria (Tim) Schurdell and Gabrielle Brown. Two great-grandchildren Veronica and Rileyanne Schurdell. His sister Bonnie Brown.

Preceded in death by his parents George C. Brown, Sr. and Frieda Brown (nee Haase). George was born September 26, 1937 in Blue Island, IL. He was a truck driver for Grief Brothers in Blue Island for 30 years.

Veteran of the U. S. Army. 45 year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1332 in Blue Island. George enjoyed golfing with the Shorewood Glen Golf League, camping and bowling with the Eagles and Moose Lodge.

Committal services will be held at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Friday, June 1st at 10:30 A.M. All family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery visitors center by 10:15 A.M. In lieu of flowers memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL. 60431 will be appreciated.
