William H. “Bill” Carpenter, age 66, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. William is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Charlene (nee Horsley); son, Zachary Carpenter; brother, Richard (Cynde) Carpenter of Las Vegas , Nevada, Joy (Ben) Kirchner of Channahon, IL; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Martha Horsley; and loyal companion, Angel. Preceded in death by his parents, Eugene H. and Norma Jean (nee McGee) Carpenter.

Bill was born and raised in Joliet and graduated from Joliet West High School. He was a proud United States Army Veteran and a member of the New Lenox American Legion Post #1977. Bill was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed assisting the Joliet Wish Upon a Star Foundation.

He will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, donation to Joliet Area Community Hospice or TLC Animal Shelter in Homer Glen would be appreciated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Per Bill’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
