Evelee Pate Prosser, 94, wife of the late Plasky Jim “Little Son” Prosser, passed away, Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence. Mrs. Prosser was born on September 6, 1924 in Florence County, daughter of the late James Lewis “Jim” Pate and Ida McAllister Pate. She attended J. C. Lynch School.

Mrs. Pate was a longtime member of Coward Pentecostal Holiness Church where she formerly served as Sunday School Teacher and Youth Leader. She was well versed in the Bible, strong in her faith and a great inspiration to her family and friends. She enjoyed taking care of children in her home and was an excellent cook.

Surviving are her daughter, Lisa P. Miles of Coward; grandchildren, Caleb Barfield and Kayelynn Miles, both of Coward; sister, Annie Bell Langston of Coward; a number of nieces, nephews, extended family and special friends. Mrs. Prosser was preceded in death by her brothers, Reverend Luria Pate, Marion Pate and Jack W. “Buddy” Pate; sisters, Marguerite Thompkins, Rosa Lee Miles, Rutina Powell and Eldera McGee. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM, Friday, May 17, 2019, at Coward Pentecostal Holiness Church, with burial to follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM Friday, prior to the services, at the church. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of South Carolina, Gwen, Kimberly and Annie, for their care and concern.
