Florence (Flo) E. Drury, 77, went home to Heaven on December 31, 2018, and she is now filled with joy and peace in the paradise of God. She was born on September 13, 1941 in Kinston, NC. A Kappa Delta from the Gamma Mu chapter (AOT) at Valdosta State University, Flo graduated in 1964 and began a life-long career in Elementary Education and Administration.

After almost 40 years with the Duval County Public Schools, Flo retired in 2003 as a 1st grade teacher from Seabreeze Elementary School in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Known for her fun-loving spirit and laughter, Flo was passionate about teaching phonics and handwriting to empower young readers to have fun as they learn and grow. Survived by her daughter, Jennifer Ann Fleetwood (Jonathan) and her grandchildren, Amanda and Connor; her sister, Mary Ann Wellmon (Jim) and nephew, Christopher.

A Celebration of Flo’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Jacksonville Memory Gardens at 1pm with visitation beginning at Noon. In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable donation to one of Flo’s favorite charities, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
