Obituary for Floyd W. Jones Latham, NY Floyd W. Jones, 91, passed into the arms of our Lord on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at his residence surrounded by Joan, his loving wife of 65 years, and his beloved son, Tony. He proudly served in the Navy and was actively involved with the Drum & Bugle Corps for the majority of his life. He was also a life member of Watervliet VFW Post 729.

He began his employment with NYS Dept. of Social Services as a mailboy and by the time he retired held the title of “Director of Finance”. He was a lifelong New York Giants fan, loved playing golf, tennis, and pinochle.

He enjoyed spending his winters in Florida and summers in the Capital District. Besides his wife Joan and son Tony, Floyd is survived by his daughter-in-law Brett, his brothers Richard (Carol), Earl (Marianne), sisters-in-law Adele Scott, Ann Marie Del Ra, numerous nieces and nephews, loving grandchildren Veronica, Natalie, and Mitchell Jones, and, Floyd & Joan’s honorary son, “Wease”. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Hospice and the many others who shared so much love and care during Floyd’s passing.

Dr. Yoram Beer and Sherry, of his office, surpassed the normal standard of medical care and went above and beyond for Floyd. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either Community Hospice of Rensselaer County or St. Jude’s Hospital. Friends and relatives are welcome to join us for a mass and memorial service held on Monday, October 29th, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Rd.
