Obituary for Francis L. “Babe” Bensinger Francis L. “Babe” Bensinger, 86, of N. Lebanon Twp. , passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018, at the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mary E. Bennett Bensinger.

Born in Tremont on November 26, 1931, he was the son of the late Francis W. and Mae C. Kissinger Bensinger. Francis worked in maintenance and carpentry and retired from the Lebanon VA Medical Center in 1987. He served in the U.S. Army as a Sgt.

during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Lebanon. For over 30 years he was involved in exhibition poultry on the east coast and received numerous awards and the ABA Master Breeder Award.

He was an avid hunter and especially enjoyed fishing on the Susquehanna. He is survived by his sister Rita Butler; nieces Christine Noonan and Gail Smyers all from Cumberland County and several nephews. He was preceded in death by his son David L. Bensinger; brother Harold Bensinger and sisters Irene Lehman, Dorothy Doran, Lorraine Berger and Marlene Boltz.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church, 28 N. 9th St., Lebanon, PA 17046.
