Francisco Oliveira, age 96, of Roosevelt Ave. , Pawtucket and formerly of Bristol died January 13, 2019 at Hattie Ide Chaffee Nursing Home. Francisco was the husband of the late Fernanda (Paiva) Oliveira.

He was born on September 24, 1922 in Pawtucket, a son of the late Antonio Oliveira and the late Mary (Almeida) Oliveira. He was a veteran of WWII and proudly served our country with the US Army Air Corp. He was flying the Hump as a radio/navigator from India to China.

He worked as an electronic draftsman for Raytheon, then worked and retired from Nyman Paper Company as a maintenance man. He is survived by his son Frank Oliveira and daughter-in-law Jan Mowry of Pawtucket, two grandchildren; Stephen Oliveira of Pawtucket and Jennifer Jerome of Waterford, CT, one great grandson Benjamin Jerome of CT and a step-grandson Zachary Jerome of VT. He was the brother of the late Josephine Martins.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 11:30am-12:30pm at the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence followed by a Funeral Service at the Rebello Funeral Home at 12:30pm. Burial with Military Honors will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bristol. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to RI Veteran’s Home Fund, 480 Metacom Ave.
