Frank “Buddy” Wyatt of Marthaville, Louisiana August 22, 1934 – February 15, 2019 August 22, 1934 to February 15, 2019 God saw that I was getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around me and whispered, “Come home with me”. So grieve a while if you must, then be comforted by trust. Buddy was born August 22, 1934 in Marthaville, LA and passed away on February 15, 2019 in Shreveport, LA at the age of 84.

He was raised in the Old Pisgah community and graduated from Belmont High School. He lived in Shreveport, LA for 20 years before settling on Wyatt Road in the Old Pisgah community in 1975. Buddy will always be remembered as either the “Frito Man” or the unofficial Mayor of Old Pisgah.

He was an active member of Old Pisgah Baptist Church and was known for his kind and friendly nature. A true Southern gentleman, a great father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he never met a stranger. He is survived by his wife, Alice Wyatt of Marthaville, LA; two sons, Ricky Wyatt and Wife Carol of Lafayette, LA, and Randy Wyatt and wife Cathy of Montgomery, Texas; step daughters Louise Johnson and Ester Williams of Shreveport, LA and Alice Phillips and husband Wes of Haughton, LA and step son Leroy Moffett of Stonewall, LA; sister, Betty Remedies of Marthaville, LA, sister and brother-in-law, Lotel and Bert Bloxom of Shreveport, LA, sister-in-law Sue Grant of Bossier City, LA, brother-in-law, Robert McCauslin of Ball, LA, brother-in-law Ronald Vines of Marthaville, LA; grandchildren, Karolina Wyatt of Scottsdale, AZ, Megan Wyatt of Richmond, TX, Lacey Leger and husband Stacy of Birmingham, AL, Rhett Wyatt and wife Tiffany Wyatt of Lafayette, LA; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Ty Billings of Richmond, TX, River and Amelie Wyatt of Lafayette, LA, Abigail and Molly Leger of Birmingham, AL.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Wyatt of Marthaville, his parents, Clyde and Mae Wyatt of Marthaville, LA, his brother, Arvile “Jim” Wyatt of Natchitoches, LA and Mavis Vines of Marthaville, LA. Visitation will be at Old Pisgah Baptist Church, 15192 Hwy 120, Marthaville, LA from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday February 19, 2019. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday February 20, 2019 at Old Pisgah Baptist Church with Pastors Dean Johnson, Glyn Howard and Ken Norris officiating.

Pallbearers are Rhett Wyatt, Stacy Leger, Seth Miller, David Billings, Ty Billings, and Peyton Billings. Honorary Pallbearers are David Wyatt, Chuck Wyatt, Don Wyatt, Ken Bloxom, Kevin Remedies, Bryan McCauslin, Chris McCauslin, Jerry Callens, Cecil Mitchell and Ronald Vines. The family would like to thank the staff at Spring Lake Nursing Home as well as the Old Pisgah Baptist Church family for all their kindness and support.
