Fred Clair Brown 3/29/1934 – 10/16/2018 Fred Clair Brown, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on the morning of October 16, 2018 surrounded by his family. Fred was born March 29, 1934 in Ogden, Utah to Clair E. & Verna Randall Brown. He graduated from Weber High School in 1952.

Fred attended Weber College and Brigham Young University each for one year before serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in New Zealand from 1954-57. After returning from his missionary service, Fred married Marilyn Bott for time and all eternity in 1958 in the Salt Lake Temple. Fred graduated from the University of Utah in 1960 with a degree in accounting, and went on to receive his Master’s of Business Administration in 1961.

After completing his education, Fred went on to work as an instructor in accounting at both the University of Utah and Weber State University before finishing his career working for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints finance department from 1982-1996. Fred was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held multiple positions of service throughout his life. He was an avid fisherman, and loved the great outdoors, especially spending time in Yellowstone National Park.

One of Fred’s greatest joys in life was spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Bott Brown, Daughters; Susanne (Bob Stowers), Lori (Clayton Berrett), Colleen (Bryce Tolman) and Pam (Jay Tolman). Fred was loved and adored by each one of his 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 20 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel at 1150 E 2600 N, North Ogden, UT 84414. A viewing will be held Friday, October 19 from 6-8 p.m. at the church and prior to services on Saturday, October 20 from 10-10:45 at the church. Interment if the Ben Lomond Cemetery.
