Obituary for Frederick Joe Reynolds Frederick Reynolds died peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, March 10 2018. He battled Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s disease for 10 years. He was born on August 19, 1948 in Mercedes Texas.

He was 69 Years Old. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Neese and Floyd Fergus, and his in-laws, Thelma Payton and Marvin Payton Sr He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nora Payton Reynolds, his daughter Michelle (Dale) Velazquez, and his son Robert (Krystal) Reynolds , 2 granddaughters, Heather and Rachael Reynolds, 3 sisters, Danna Berger, Alison Reynolds, and Melanie (Kelly) Pemelton, 2 Brother in-laws, Marvin Jr (Yvonne) Payton and Dan (Kathy) Payton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

As a farm boy in his youth, Fred grew up flagging for his Dad’s Crop Dusting Co He was just short of getting his pilot’s license. After graduating from La Feria High School in 1967, he joined the US Navy in 1969.

Fred proudly served his country for 22 years before retiring in 1991. During his time in the service, he and his family were stationed in Japan, Guam, and Norfolk Virginia. He then went on to graduate from Texas A&M Corpus Christi with degrees in Financing and Computer Science.

He also worked for Koch Refinery. In his retirement, Fred’s hobbies were Hot Rod Cars, Motorcycles, and eating. His favorite foods were Junk Food, Pizza, Burgers, Chili Cheese Dogs, Ice Cream, Cheetos and Cookies.

His favorite restaurant was Chic-Fil-A. A celebration of Fred’s Life will be 6:30 Monday, March 12, 2018 at Duddlesten Funeral Home in Raymondville. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion, Post 390.

A special thank you to the many nurses who cared for Fred at Retama Nursing Home and Kindred Hospice, and to his constant companions and caretakers Melissa and Odilla with Agua Christalina Home Care. In lieu of flowers, donations in Fred’s honor can be made to Kindred Hospice, 410 N Ed Carey Drive, Ste, A, Harlingen Texas, 78552 or Aqua Christalina Home Care, 105 E. Jackson St., Harlingen, Texas 78550. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Duddlesten Funeral Home, 604 W. Hidalgo Ave.
