Janesville, WI – Gale H. Potter, age 81, of Janesville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center after a battle with multiple health issues. He was born in Little Falls, WI, on November 24th, 1936, the son of Harvey and Helen (McMann) Potter. During his high school years, he enjoyed athletics and exceled in baseball.

After graduating from Sparta High School on June 1st, 1955, Gale served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard. He worked as a supervisor at General Motors. After 36 years, Gale retired and enjoyed hunting, fishing and serving others with his passion for repairing lawn mowers and snow blowers.

Surviving are the mother of his four children, Mary Kowal; children: Paula (Winke), Tamra (Grant) Jones, David (Nicole) Potter, Stephen (Cheri) Potter; grandchildren: Liz (Ben) Sudbeck, Kristin and Meghan Winke; Madison, Courtland, Colby, Mallory Potter, and Chester Potter; his siblings: Valeria (Gordon) Hesselberg, Jeanette (Irv) Rath, Jeanita O’Neil, Marleen Berg and Dennis Potter; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Helen Potter; his former in-laws, Chester and Lois Vroman; brother, Dean; sister, Rosalie Kriesel; brothers-in-law, Kent Chrisinger, John Timm, Bernard O’Neil, Galen Berg; former brother in law, Douglas Moe; niece, Nancy Amling; and his great nephew, Scott Chrisinger. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME; with visitation from 11:30 a.m. until time of service.

Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 23, 2018 at the Warrens Cemetery, in Warrens, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
